Eu resolvi o problema baixando para uma versão mais antiga do kernel. Não é exatamente a solução que eu preferiria. Espero que seja corrigido pela próxima versão do kernel no Ubuntu 18.10.

 

I have solved the problem by downgrading to an older version of the kernel. Not exactly the solution I would prefer. Hopefully, it will get fixed by next version of kernel in Ubuntu 18.10.
